Pickleball
Yes…Pickleball! This game was created in the backyard of Washington Congressman Joel Prichard. He wanted an activity for his kids that lazy summer of 1965. Since then it has spread throughout the USA, Canada and many countries around the world. It is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, especially in Senior Communities.
Pickleball provides plenty of exercise, eye-hand coordination and you do not have to be “super athletic” to play. This is a game of strategy, for both men and women of all ages.
For more information on Pickleball, visit: USAPA.org.

Open play is designed as “drop-in” play. You come when you can, leave when you must. Tennis shoes need to be worn. Racquets and balls will be provided. See you on the court!
(See current Activity Guide for exact dates and registration information.)

Adult Cribbage League

The Adult Cribbage League competes on Tuesday evenings beginning in October and ending in mid-March. This is a six to ten team league with team entries accepted on a limited basis. Returning teams are given priority for entry with new teams accepted on an as needed basis. Check with the ORD office to see if the league is currently seeking new teams.
A team must consist of a minimum of six players. Individuals interested in playing may contact the Recreation Department for assistance with being placed on a team; however, placement is not guaranteed. The cribbage league plays a round-robin schedule.

The season concludes with the annual “Fun Night” competition. Awards are provided to league champions through league funds. The Adult Cribbage League is governed by elected officials and administered by the Recreation Department. The election of officers occurs during the annual “Fun Night” competition. This league has been competing for over sixty years!
