NEW: Horseback Riding Summer Camps “Taking the Reins”
Students will learn how to take care of a horse through proper safety, grooming, riding and tacking up a horse. Riders will also learn how to hand walk their horses, mount/ dismount and steer them around an enclosed arena. Students will also participate in horse activities and projects. There will be a horse show on the last day to celebrate what they have accomplished.
All classes are exempt from the family fee cap and reduced rate.
All classes take place at Glen Valley Farm, 2561 Vinland Road, Oshkosh.
Riders should arrive at Glen Valley Farm ready to ride. They should feel comfortable with and be respectful towards large animals. Each riding student should wear long pants (no capris or shorts) and rain boots/gym shoes with socks (no open toed shoes or sandals). This prevents blisters that can be caused by the saddle rubbing while riding. Participants must also wear a helmet. They can either bring their own bike helmet or a helmet will be provided.
