Community Walking Program

The Oshkosh Area School District is offering a Community Walking Program beginning in November and continuing through mid April at West High School. Individuals may walk the halls of a designated path at the school.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30pm
at West High School (when school is in session)

A map of the walking route will be provided. Participants should wear a comfortable walking shoe. Winter boots will not be allowed on the walking path.

An additional walking opportunity is available at the Recreation Gym, 425 Division Street.

Weekdays from 7:30 – 8:00 AM and 1:00 – 2:00 PM
(when the ORD office is open and the gym is available)

There is no charge for this program but participants must register in advance at the Recreation Department and receive an identification badge.

The program will not be available on:

  • November 27, 28
  • December 23, 25, 26, 30
  • January  1, 20
  • February 17
  • March 23, 25, 26

(When school is cancelled due to the weather, the program will also be cancelled for the day – Please note that when there is a 2 inch or more snowfall overnight, snow plowing will be occurring in the school parking lots).


Fees: There is no charge for this program but participants must register in advance at the Recreation Department and receive an identification badge.

Before you start any exercise program you should consult with your physician, especially if you are over 35 years of age, are taking any form of medication, have not exercised regularly, or if you have had any symptoms of heart disease or other serious illness that might affect your ability to exercise
