About the Instructors:

Steve Eliasen is the founder and director of IYSO which he began back in 2007 with the goal of sharing sailing with kids and families quickly, easily and inexpensively. In addition to serving on the staff of Sail Sheboygan as well as serving on the Green Bay Sail and Paddle Board of Directors, and instructing youth sailors over the past ten seasons in communities all over northeastern Wisconsin, The Eliasens run the largest school sailing program in North America, “Oshkosh Schools Sail Week” each June.

About Safety:

Safety is always our first priority. Our instructors have completed sailing leadership courses through US Sailing and our staff includes lifeguards on the water. We adhere to US Sailing safety protocols, running 9000+ students through our courses in the past ten years, without incident.

A Word on Weather:

Sailing is about adapting to conditions. As a rule of thumb, we sail unless it is thundering, lightning or there are exceptionally high winds. If we have to cancel due to weather, we will post cancellations on our International Youth Sailing of Oshkosh Facebook page. Please check it!
