Join our summer production of "The Music Man!"

Jolly Jester Community Theater is a musical theater opportunity for all ages (6+). This year's perforance will be The Music Man by Meredith Wilson. 

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize, depite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef.  His plans to skip town with the cash are are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.

Try-outs for the production will be held on Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Recreation Gym.  Come for try-outs at anytime during that time frame, on either day - no appointment needed.  Interested participants will be asked to sing a song with a karaoke track or acapella (no longer than 1 minute) as well as recite a 1 minute monologue (i.e. poem, short story) preferably memorized, that you've prepared for the try-outs.

Full cast rehearsals will be held primarily at the Recreation Dept. Gym most Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July. Dress rehearsals will be held during the entire period ofAugust 7 - 10. Participants may be responsible for their own costume based on part.
