The elementary orchestra (strings) program is available to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students who would like to learn how to play the violin, viola, or cello.

Music learning is great training for both body and brain.  Students learn to develop their ear (listening, evaluation, tuning), read music, develop self-discipline, poise, and self-confidence through performance, follow directions, function in a group, plan their time, and realize the joy of making music with the special sound of strings.  Be amazed as your child learns to play Twinkle, Twinkle Litte Star, Ode to Joy and even the Theme from Star Wars after ony a few months of classes.

Students are motivated to learn folks songs by earning "ribbons" throughout the program.  They will perform three concerts throughout the school year.

The program begins October 2, 2022 and continues through May 18, 2024.  Students must provide a string instrument. There are several music stores that rent string instruments. Names of music stores and rental information will be provided at the September Parent Meetings. For those families on free/reduced lunch, there is the option of renting from the school district.

Group lessons are held once a week after school for 45 minutes. Parents can choose any location that best fits their family schedule, with the option of changing clssses if needed.  . There are no lessons on days that school is not in session.

NOTE: Classes may be combined in the event of low enrollment for any given class. See below for the schedule:
