FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League Challenge is an engaging, hands-on STEM program designed for students in grades 4-8. It helps young learners explore the excitement of science and technology while fostering self-confidence, critical thinking, and essential life and career skills. Through real-world engineering challenges, participants design and build LEGO robots to complete tasks on dynamic playing fields. This global robotics program inspires students to experiment, problem-solve, and develop coding and design skills, equipping them for future opportunities in STEM and beyond.
Requirements:
- Team consisting of 6 to 10 members, grades 4-8
- FLL Challenge registration form for ORD.
- $100 registration fee per team member
- Volunteer Disclosure Statement and Criminal Background Check Authorization form of Oshkosh Area School District for each adult coach.
- Confirmation of requirements by First Lego League Coordinator
ORD is accepting individual student applications, however, space on existing teams is very limited. FLL Coaches are volunteers: If you are interested in starting a team, or volunteering to help coach an existing team, training, resources, and guidance is provided throughout the season.

Note: The FLL Challenge Season begins in August and consists of a three-tired qualifying tournament structure, with the first competitions beginning in November. The Wisconsin State Championship is typically in January, with potential post-Championship advancement for top-performing Wisconsin teams.
