Jolly Jester Community Theater

Jolly Jester Community Theatre is a musical theater opportunity for both adults and kids age 12 and up. Kids under 12, minimum age of 7, must have a parent or guardian in the show to participate. This year's performance will be Shrek the Musical.
To regain his swamp from the villainous Lord Farquaad, Shrek, a green ogre, sets out on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona, who hides a secret of her own.

Tryouts for the production will be held on Saturday, April  11, 2026 and Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Recreation Gym. Come for tryouts at any time during the two days. Interested participants will be asked to sing a song with a karaoke track or acapella, no longer than 1 minute and recite a 1 minute monologue (i.e. poem, short story) preferably memorized, that you prepare for the tryouts. There will be a dance audition for actors 12 and up if you are interested in a featured dance role. There will be a dance audition so please wear or bring clothes that you can move in.

Full cast rehearsals will be held primarily at the Recreation Dept Gym most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Dress rehearsals will be held during the entire period of August 8-11. Participants may be responsible for their own costume based on part.
