Horseback Riding - New!

This introductory horseback riding camp provides a safe and fun environment for youth to learn about horses, riding, and basic horsemanship.

Participants will learn: Grooming and tacking, leading and handling horses safely, basic riding skills in the arena, horse behavior and care, and barn safety and responsibilities.

Each week includes hands-on time with horses and mounted riding instruction in small groups. Helmets are provided. No prior riding experience is required.

Victorian Life at the Morgan House

Step into the Victorian era for a fun and engaging two-hour experience at the Morgan House Museum! Designed for students ages 9–12, this interactive program begins with a guided tour of the historic home, followed by hands-on activities that bring the past to life. Sweet summer projects! Comfy shorts, a water bottle bag, criss-cross headband, and more. No experience necessary. Students will make, showcase, and take home all their projects. Hand and machine sewing techniques are taught with SAFETY FIRST always in mind. The final day is a showcase where friends and family are invited to see the projects in action.

The ORD is proud to offer three levels of STEM activities via the following Lego League and Wave Robotics programs:

Nature Programs

Youth Art - New!

Kids will have fun gaining confidence in their own artistry by creating with just enough guidance froman expert!

Intro to Printmaking:
Kids love discovering the exciting world of printmaking! They'll explore different materials to make unique monoprints, all while having a blast with fun tools and creative supplies. It's a friendly and lively class that's perfect for sparking curiosity and sharing the joy of printing together.


Intro to Mosaic:
Hey there! Come join us as we dive into creating a vibrant underwater world through mosaic art. In this fun class, young artists will get the chance to craft a big, eye-catching piece using just paper and glue, all inspired by an amazing underwater scene. We can't wait to see your creativity shine!


Intro to Painting:
Hey young artists! Come discover the world of painting with fun sessions using watercolor and tempera paints. Our classes are inspired by seasonal themes, and it's all about enjoying the joy of creating together!

Please note:  There are no refunds for these Craft Workshops.

Canvas Painting for Kids

Kids will have fun gaining confidence in their own artistry by creating a unique painting with just enough guidance from an expert! All supplies are provided.  

Summer Registration begins on April 28th.

                    

Canvas Painting for Kids with Disabilities

Youth with disabilities can discover their inner artist while creating these fun and unique paintings. All supplies will be provided.  Online registration begins Monday, August 19th!

                    

Pom Pons

The Oshkosh Recreation Department offers two Pom Pon experiences for kids - Youth Pom Squad during the school year and Pom Pon Mini-Camp during the summer!  

Chess for Kids

The Oshkosh Recreation Department offers two types of opportunities for kids to learn and keep playing Chess!

Bangles & Baubles Youth

Made just for you, by you.  Insert your own creative stye into our various projects.  Styles and colors of beads and charms may vary.  Pictures shown are examples only.  Base metal materials, not precious metals, are used for all projects.  All supplies will be provided and jewelry making techniques will be taught in each class.
