Jolly Jester Community Theater is a musical theater opportunity for all ages (7+) and talents!
Don't miss this chance to be a part of this year's production of "Bye Bye Birdie," a loving send-up of 1950s small-town America, teenagers, and rock & roll! "Bye Bye Birdie" remains as fresh and vibrant as ever. Teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie has been drafted, so he chooses All-American girl Kim MacAfee for a very public farewell kiss. Featuring a tuneful, high-energy score and a hilarious script, Birdie continues to thrill audiences around the world.
Try-outs for the production will be held on Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, from 1:00-3:00pm at the Recreation Gym. Come for try-outs at any time during the two days!
Interested participants will be asked to
- Sing a song with a karaoke track or acapella for one minute
- Recite a 1 minute monologue (i.e. poem, short story) preferably memorized, that you have prepared for the try-outs.
Full cast rehearsals will be held primarily at the Oshkosh Recreation Department Gym on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings beginning June 10.
Participants may be responsible for their own costume based on their part.
