For students grades K-3, FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League captures young children’s curiosity and directs it toward discovering the wonders of science and technology. This program features a real-world scientific concept to be explored through research, teamwork, construction, and imagination. Guided by adult coaches, teams use LEGO bricks to build a model and then showcase their journey at the FIRST Lego League Expo hosted by Wave Robotice in December.

Requirements:

  • A team consisting of 6 members, grades K-3.
  • Jr. FLL Registration with ORD.
  • Registration Fee Paid (per team member) or per team - TBD.
  • Volunteer Disclosure Statement and Criminal Background Check Authorization from Oshkosh Area School District for each adult coach.
  • Confirmation of requirements by First Lego League Coordinator.

Note:  The Jr. FLL season runs from August to December.  Teams of 6 must be formed, fees collected and all forms filled out, along with confirmation from Coordinator prior to registration with ORD.  Teams are coached by parent volunteers.  The ORD does not provide coaches, but will guide new coaches in how to get materials ordered and contact experienced coaches.
